My latest musings.
SUMMER NIGHT
Smell the honeysuckle vines
that scent the warm night air.
Feel the breeze so warm and soft
while wafting through your hair.
Gaze into the moonlit sky
and make a silent wish.
Watch the fireflies glowing bright
as through the dark they swish.
See the distant stars so high
they're glittering in space.
Smile as silver moonbeams fall
upon your upturned face.
Count the minutes 'til the dawn
as summer night doth wain
And keep your sweet dreams
in your heart until it's night again.

I confess. I am a Pottermaniac. I love Harry.
A Poem by Carolyn T. written July 29, 2008
For Severus
You never understood me
And I couldn't fathom you.
Our lives were spent in turmoil
Never knowing what was true.
If you'd have shown concern,
I'd have given you respect.
But we had one thing in common
That I never did suspect.
While worlds apart, upon our hearts
One name was written there.
Lily... mother, sweetheart;
Her loss seemed so unfair.
All my life I mourned her
My heart did crave her so.
But yours was hurting also
And that I did not know.
And when your life was ebbing
As you began to fade away,
You gave the gift that saved me
And all Wizardom that day.
From where you are now,
I am sure That you already know
You are forgiven, be at rest
All rancor is let go.
Your memory has been preserved
In Hogwarts hallowed halls
And generations yet to come
Will stand when duty calls.
For it is your legacy
And that of Dumbledore
That good sustains and will remain
Triumphant evermore.

No. 4 Winter Magic
Written int the fall of 2006
Winter Magic
Silver sleigh bells shining bright
Icicles sparkling in moonlight
Breathing misted cold clear air
Winter magic everywhere
Waterfalls are carved in ice
By winds that cut and mold and slice
Nature’s art beyond compare
Winter magic everywhere
Evergreen and mistletoe
Tied up in a big red bow
Carolers singing in the square
Winter magic everywhere
Snow like frosting on the trees
Fairy lights twinkling on the eaves
Jolly old elves with long white hair
Winter magic everywhere

No. 3 November Night
Also written fall 2006
November Night
Fallen leaves of trees gone bare
Calls of geese through cold crisp air
Woolen socks and scarves wound tight
Against the cold November night
Grey clouds dim the evening sky
Around the door the wind does sigh
Through windowpane the lamp glows bright
Against the cold November night
Icy rain filled blustery days
Twilight full of moonlit haze
Apple cider; warm delight
Against the cold November night
Frost lies thick on field and plow
Owls hoot 'neath the fir tree's bough
Hearth fires burn with amber light
Against the cold November night

2nd Poem
This one was also written in the fall of 2006
Autumn's Gifts
Bright orange pumpkins, rainbow maize
Woodlands splendid colors blaze
Skies of brilliant brightest blue
Autumn's dazzling gift to you.
Chrysanthemums in vivid bloom
Apple cider's sweet perfume
Pumpkin pie and turkey stew
Autumn's dazzling gift to you.
Persimmon puckers on your face
Windows trimmed in icy lace
Sunbeams on the frosty dew
Autumn's dazzling gift to you.
Smoky smell of burning leaves
Wafting on the chilly breeze
Jack o' lanterns, witches brew
Autumn's dazzling gift to you.
Shorter day and longer night
Fireplace shedding gleaming light
Bidding summer sweet adieu
Autumn's dazzling gift to you.

My first poem
I wrote this in the fall of 2006
I have plans of illustrating whenever time and inclination coincide.
Welcome Night of Halloween
Wraiths among the misty trees
Wind blown swirling musty leaves
Wistful waiting spirits keen
Welcome night of Halloween
Witches watching cauldrons bubble
Werewolf howling warning trouble
Woeful creatures barely seen
Welcome night of Halloween
Wings of bats disturb the air
Whooshing from their cavern lair
Wavering shadows mute the scene
Welcome night of Halloween
Whispered greetings fill the night
While goblins creep beyond the light
Worlds of wonders unforeseen
Welcome night of Halloween
